1916: Red Sox right handed pitcher Rube Foster tosses a no-hitter against the Highlanders. This is the first no hitter at Fenway Park which was built in 1912.

1952: The Senators sign softball standout Eleanor Engle, however she will never step foot on the field because the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues President George Trautman bans the signing of women. Commissioner Ford Frick takes it a step further when he prohibits female players in professional baseball to prevent teams from using them as a publicity stunt.

1964: Jim Bunning tosses a perfect game on Father's Day. He becomes the first player to toss a no-hitter in both leagues.
1989: Carlton Fisk surpasses Yogi Berra for the American League lead in career home runs when he hits his 307th dinger which helps the White Sox defeat the Yankees 7-3

2009: Tony La Russa Secures his 2,500th victory as a manager when the Cardinals beat the Royals 12-5 at Kauffman Stadium. He becomes the third manager to reach the milestone joining Connie Mack and John McGraw.
