This Day in Baseball History: 6/20

 A look at June 20th in the pages of Baseball History

1921: Babe Ruth hits his 127th career home run moving him into the second place on the home run total list and only 11 dingers behind Roger Connor and first place.

1950: Joe Dimaggio hits a RBI single in the third inning of the game for his 2,000th hit. It takes the Yankee Clipper only 1,537 games to reach the milestone.

1982: Pete Rose plays in his 3,000th career game.

1986: Bo Jackson signs to play baseball with the Kansas City Royals. The two sport star in college will go on to become an All Star on the diamond and the gridiron.

2007: Sammy Sosa connects on a hanging breaking ball in the fifth inning and becomes the 5th player in the history of baseball to hit 600 home runs. He joined Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth and Willie Mays.
