A look at June 15th in the pages of Baseball History
1976: Due to massive flooding in the Houston area, the umpiring crew is unable to make it to the Astrodome which causes the game to be "rained out". This is the first rain out of a game in an enclosed stadium in the history of the game.

1977: The mets trade away Tom Seaver to the Reds in exchange for pitcher Pat Zachary, second baseman Doug Flynn and minor leaguers Steve Henderson and Dan Norman.

1983: The Cardinals trade away first baseman Keith Hernandez to the Mets for two right handed pitchers in Neil Allen and Rick Ownbey.

1999: Brewers pitcher Jim Abbott who was born without a right hand, records his first major league hit. He had spent the previous parts of his career playing for the Angels and the Yankees so he had never had a chance to bat previously.

1999: Will Clark records his 2,000th career hit as a member of the Orioles. Clark would finish his career after the next season and end up with 2,176 hits in his career.
