Game Preview: Rockies Vs. Diamondbacks 5/22/2013

The Colorado Rockies will be facing off with the Arizona Diamondbacks this afternoon in the rubber match of their three game series. After losing the first game of the series 5-1, the Rockies defeated the D-Backs yesterday by the score of 5-4 in 10 innings. Wilin Rosario played hero last night as he drove in the game winning run on a single that was laced down the right field line. Wilton Lopez picked up his first win of the season in relief and Former Rockies pitcher Matt Reynolds took his second loss of the season.

The match up for today's game pits Jorge De La Rosa (5-3, 3.58 ERA) for the Rockies against, Trevor Cahill (2.48 ERA) for the Diamondbacks. De La Rosa will be looking to secure his sixth win on the year and his fourth consecutive victory. His last start was sub par as he went five innings allowing nine hits and five runs, but was still able to get the victory as the Rockies offense put up 10 runs against the Giants and were able to hold on for a 10-9 victory. Cahill should not be judged just based on his below .500 record. He has been a great option for the D-Backs this year and has a better than average ERA at 2.48. He had a stellar start last time out against the Marlins as he went eight innings allowing five hits and one run en route to his third victory on the year. He has gone at least seven innings in five of his last seven starts.
