Rockies vs. Giants Preview 5/19/2013

The Colorado Rockies have finally gotten over the hump in a couple of different ways. The Rockies broke their losing streak against the Giants when they defeated them on Friday night 10-9. The Rockies then followed up that victory with another one on Saturday night, this time beating them 10-2. The victory marked the first time that the Rockies had back to back victories against the Giants in over two years. The victory also marked the first time that the Rockies had back to back victories since April 19th and 20th. They will be looking to continue their winning ways as they head into the series finale against the Giants today.

The matchup on the mound today will be Juan Nicasio (3-1, 5.13 ERA) against crafty lefty Barry Zito (3-2, 3.40 ERA). Zito has seemingly had the Rockies number in the past couple of years. He keeps the hitters off balance and will try to lull the hitters asleep at the plate and then drop his big breaking curve ball for a swing and miss pitch. The Rockies offense has scored 10 runs in each of the past two games and they will be looking for a similar result on Sunday afternoon.

The San Francisco Giants lineup for today's game is as follows:
1. Angel Pagan, CF
2. Brandon Crawford, SS
3. Pablo Sandoval, 3B
4. Hunter Pence, RF
5. Brandon Belt, 1B
6. Gregor Blanco, LF
7. Guillermo Quiroz, C
8. Nick Noonan, 2B
9. Barry Zito

The Colorado Rockies will counter with this lineup for the Sunday finale:
1. Eric Young Jr, RF
2. Dexter Fowler, CF
3. Carlos Gonzalez, LF
4. Troy Tulowitzki, SS
5. Jordan Pacheco, 1B
6. DJ LeMahieu, 3B
7. Josh Rutledge, 2B
8. Yorvit Torrealba, C
9. Juan Nicasio, P
