The Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in dramatic fashion tonight and drew one game closer to the lead for the NL West division. It took extra innings to finish off the D-Backs but a win is a win no matter when you get it. Jhoulys Chacin pitched great for six innings and then the wheels fell off in the 7th for him. After six innings he had allowed only one hit and was cruising along through the Diamondbacks order, but in the seventh inning a couple of walks and a couple of hits had the game tied and Chacin heading for the showers after seeing his victory slip through his fingers. The Rockies bullpen stopped the bleeding and was able to hold the Diamondbacks for the rest of the game. Wilton Lopez picked up the win for the Rockies while former Rockies pitcher Matt Reynolds took the loss.
Troy Tulowitzki went 2-4 with a solo home run in the third inning, his ninth on the year. Wilin Rosario also had two hits and came up with the walk off RBI single in the 10th inning. All in all the Rockies ended the game with five runs on ten hits and they held the Diamondbacks to four runs on five hits.
The Rockies will finish their home stand tomorrow afternoon against the Diamondbacks with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 PM Mountain time. The starting pitchers for tomorrow's game are Jorge De La Rosa for the Rockies and Trevor Cahill for the D-Backs.
