Rockies Vs. Cubs Game 2

The Cubs exploded on Offense and took the first game of the series against the Rockies on Monday night. Every starter for the Cubs except Cody Ransom notched at least one hit including the pitcher Travis Wood. On the mound Wood looked dominant and finished the night throwing seven innings allowing just two hits, striking out two hitters and walking three. The only run that the Rockies were able to manage was a ninth inning home run by Josh Rutledge off of former Cubs closer Carlos Marmol. The Rockies have lost five of their last six and have failed to win consecutive games since they had their eight game winning streak in early April. The Rockies will look to get back on tack tonight as they send grizzled veteran Jeff Francis (1-3 6.90 ERA) to the hill to counter Carlos Villanueva (1-2 3.02 ERA).

The Cubs lineup for game two is as follows:
1. David Dejesus, CF
2. Starlin Castro, SS
3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
4. Alfonso Soriano, LF
5. Scott Hairston, RF
6. Wellington Castillo, C
7. Cody Ransom, 3B
8. Darwin Barney, 2B
9. Carlos Villanueva, P

The Rockies lineup is as follows:

2. Dexter Fowler, CF
3. Carlos Gonzalez, LF
4. Troy Tulowitzki, SS
5. Wilin Rosario, C
6. Todd Helton, 1B
