Rockies Drop Game to D-Backs on Monday Night

The Colorado Rockies ran into a buzz saw that goes by the name of Patrick Corbin on Monday night at Coors Field. Corbin was fantastic on the night limiting the potent Rockies offense to just three hits and one run in a complete game effort which the Diamondbacks won 5-1. He struck out a season high 10 batters on the night and looked nearly untouchable from the beginning of the game. Easily the best start of the young career of Patrick Corbin. He is now 7-0 on the year with a 1.44 ERA.

The Diamondbacks also had a stellar offensive night as they pounded out 16 hits. Every Diamondback starter except Patrick Corbin had at least one hit on the night. Didi Gregorius, Eric Chvez and AJ Pollick each had three hits on the night while Jason Kubel and Miguel Montero both added two hits. The Rockies were outplayed both offensively and defensively on the night which is the reason that the game ended the way that it did.

The Rockies will look to get it going again on Tuesday night as they will be sending Jhoulys Chacin (3-3, 4.07 ERA) to the mound to face off against Ian Kennedy (2-3, 4.88 ERA). First pitch tomorrow night is at 6:40 PM mountain time.
